An Engineer at Heart

Hi everyone,

I love to build new things out of my toys. Sometimes I drive my parents nuts because just when I get done building my intricate Lego vehicles I take them apart to see what else I can make with the pieces. Here is one of my recent creations.

Let me break it down for you. Cracker boxes left over from MSP testing at Mom's school. First, I rigged them up as train cars by  punching holes in the ends and stringing  thread between them. Then I hooked the front car up to a snowman napkin holder I made at one of the kid workshops I attended. For many months I played with it that way, sliding it around every now and then on the carpet. Then I got a brilliant idea! Tape 6 hot wheels underneath each and then it will actually roll over carpet and vinyl through the whole house. I was pretty proud of my new creation!

I also like to build bridges and walkways for my various train tracks. This is a small scale tunnel in comparison to some of the ones that I have made before.

This was the first time I have made an engine to replace my usual one on the Polar Express. It actually worked! I had to operate it by hand but it really fit on my track!

Until next time . . .
