Up, Up, and Away

Hi everyone,

I have something new to tell you . . . I got to go on my first plane ride to see Grandpa and Nana! It was so much fun! We went down to Grandma's house on Friday night and then went to the airport really early on Saturday morning. After we checked our bag and my carseat we walked all around the airport. I pushed my umbrella stroller up and down those ramps for almost two hours. I think Mommy was trying to make me tired because by the time we got on the plane all I wanted to do was sit on her lap. We sat next to a really nice man but sometimes he blocked the window so I couldn't see out it. Mommy packed new snacks, juice, toys, and books for me. I guess she really wanted to be prepared with entertainment. It turns out that she only had to use about 10% of it on the trip over. I was bummed though because I left one of my new hot wheel trucks on the plane, but I did very well and I was even the only kid on the plane! We stayed at Grandpa and Nana's house for 5 days. We went to church and got to listen to Nana sing, we went on my first carousel ride, and Grandpa, Mommy, and I drove out to some farms where we had lots of nummy snacks. I really had fun and I wasn't shy at all. I gave lots of hugs and kisses and was sad to go home. On the airplane ride home I got to sit in my very own seat by the window! We were in the very last row of the plane but no one else was in our entire row on either side of the aisle. I think I was a little more tired on this trip because Mommy says I used the other 90% of entertainment in my bag. I made it though, safe and sound. I can't wait for my next plane ride!

Until next time . . .

Fountains of Water

Hi everyone,

Have you ever seen water spraying up out of the ground? I hadn't until I went down and visited my grandma a few weeks ago. A few days before that Mommy and Daddy tried to get me to go through something called a sprinkler when we were out in the backyard but I didn't really want to have anything to do with it. The water in that sprinkler was freezing cold and it came out really fast. I did think it was funny when the dog would run in and try to get a drink from it, though. Anyway, when we went down to Grandma's house we walked downtown to the street fair. It was such a hot day that Mommy and Grandma took me over to some sprinklers that came up out of the ground. Well, at first I didn't want to have anything to do with them because they reminded me of the sprinkler from back home. But it was so hot that I finally gave in after Mommy walked through it first. I started out just running in between them but by the end I was running straight through the middle and soaked from head to toe. The water felt like the swimming pool that I go to so it was much warmer than the sprinkler in our backyard. It was really fun and I hope we get to go back sometime.

Until next time . . .

This and That

Hi everyone,

This entry will probably be pretty short. I'm tired (it's been a long few days) and my neighbors are distracting me as I type because they are jumping on a very noisy trampoline in their backyard (although I have to admit, it does sound like fun). I haven't been up to much the last few days. I got a new stroller to push around that is just my size. I like to put "aaa" (that's my bears name) in it and then tie my alligator to the handle and take them both for a walk. I also like to carry around cars, picture frames, plates . . . really just about anything that will fit in the seat part. You can also see that I am becoming quite the helper. Give me a shovel, a broom, a vacuum and I'll try to help you out as much as I can. I should probably go hit the hay.

Until next time . . .

The Wheels on the Truck Go Round and Round

Hi everyone,

I just got back from camping for the week over in the eastern part of our lovely state. I had so much fun! We took hikes, rode our bikes all over, put our feet in the lake (BRRRRR!), ate ice cream, saw Smokey the Bear, got bit by mosquitoes, had a campfire, and went to a 4th of July celebration in a neighboring town. We rented a trailer so anytime we got swarmed by skeeters we headed inside. It was kind of nice because I could still go to bed at my normal bedtime (which some people tell me is early) and the air conditioner would drown out the other campers noise. It was a win win situation for everyone. The only bad thing about the trailer was that the screen door didn't have a very good lock and I found out first hand that when 25 pounds is leaning against it it tends to open very easily. I also found out that the metal stairs are not very cushy when you fall on them on your face and the ground is kind of hard when you flip over onto your back off of the stairs. Mommy and Daddy (and me) were very thankful that a skinned up nose was all that came out of that experience (if you look close at my pictures you might be able to see the evidence).

Until next time . . .
