Then, Then, and Now

Hi everyone,

Wow! Can you believe I've already been around for three family Christmas photos. Each year they get a little more fun for me. Even though the latest one doesn't show it, I do know how to smile for the camera. I got to stand on my step stool this time so I was taller and I actually watched the orange blinking light on the camera and said "more light" when the picture was done.

It's been pretty quiet around here the last few days. The snow is melting quickly although there is still some on the ground. I'm kind of looking forward to getting back to our routine and getting out and about on our city streets.

Until next time . . .

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd send out a Merry Christmas now since I will probably be kind of busy over the next few days. Grandpa and Nana are coming up to visit tomorrow and Grandma and Molly are coming up to visit on Christmas day. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas! Remember the reason for the season, Jesus was born!

Until next time . . .

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Hi everyone,

It is really snowing here! There are HUGE flakes coming down adding to our already snow filled yard.

Earlier today we actually got to build a snowman. I know he is small and I didn't really help out because Mommy was doing all the work. I guess she didn't want to build a daddy size snowman, just a Bud size snowman. We hardly ever get to build snowmen because we usually don't get that much snow and it isn't the kind that sticks together good.

After playing in the snow we came inside for hot soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and hot cocoa followed by a lengthy nap. OK, maybe the nap was just me. I'm not sure because I was asleep, but I seem to be the only one around here who has to take naps. I know the picture of our house is a little fuzzy but I wanted to show you the lights and the snow.

Until next time . . .

Baby, It's COLD outside!

Hi everyone,

Brrrrrr . . . it is cold outside and I have to admit that I'm not really a fan of it. It means that I have to get bundled up in sweaters, coats, hats, and gloves and that is just too many layers for me. Within a few minutes I'm asking to take off my hat and gloves so that I can play with my hair and suck my fingers.

I did get out into the snow a few days ago. I took many hesitant steps before running until the snow got too deep. It took me a long time to get warm after that romp in the snow. It isn't supposed to get much warmer in the next few days either. We might get more snow and it isn't supposed to get higher than the 20's for temps (which is COLD for around these parts).

Bundle up! Until next time . . .

Gingerbread House

Hi everyone,

Here are some rules I learned about putting together gingerbread houses:

1. Don't lick the icing as Dad is putting it on the house!

2. Rooftops slide when they aren't done drying and you run a hot wheel car over them!

3. Gumballs make your tongue and lips different colors!

4. Icing makes the candy stick REALLY good once it dries!

5. They sure are fun to eat the next morning, and the next morning, and the next morning . . .

Until next time . . .

Hark, the Herald Angels Sing

Hi everyone,

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Our decorations are up, we are decorating our tree, and tonight we have plans to make a gingerbread house. Last year I didn't really pay much attention to our decorations, but this year it's like the blinders have been taken off! There are snowmen, Santas, angels, and trees everywhere!

I particularly like the decorations of Santa sitting on a bus and Santa sitting on a motorcycle (you know I'm into wheeled objects, big time). I'm also drawn to these three angels that Mommy has sitting over by our Bible opened up to the story of Jesus' birth. When I first saw them and went to touch them Mommy and I had a talk about how they used to be Grandma's and my Mommy used to play with them like they were her babies. I also call them my babies, and I have to be sitting and very careful in order to hold them. Stay tuned for more Christmas pictures and posts.

Until next time . . .

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hi everyone,

What are all great birthdays made of? Friends, fun, and food!!! Yesterday I had one of my friends (and his mom and dad) over to help celebrate my second birthday! We played with my new train table and the train that is set up in the kitchen. We had lasagna (I had pasta with marinara since I still don't do cheese), green beans, and french bread for dinner. Dessert was cupcakes shaped like cars and trucks. I picked the jeep, but ended up eating some of Mommy's 1940's truck. I stayed up WAY past my bedtime, but I had so much fun. Too bad birthdays only come around once a year!

Until next time . . .

Construction Zone

Hi everyone,

I got to celebrate my birthday a few days early while I was down at Grandma's for Thanksgiving and I got to open some really neat presents! She gave me a jacket with a car that lights up and some gray pants that I chose to wear the first day after they got washed. She also got me two puzzles. I think I like the emergency vehicle puzzle better than the animal one, but they are both pretty cool. Finally, I got a vest, hard hat, and tool belt complete with tools, a radio and goggles. I thought you might like to see me strutting my stuff as I get ready to work on some projects!

Until next time . . .
