Bundle Up and Get Outside

Hi everyone,

We've had some bee-u-ti-ful weather here this past week. On more than one occasion we have bundled up and gone out for a jog or a bike ride. Of course, I see my little car any time Mommy and Daddy open the garage to get out our bikes and I absolutely have to take it out for a spin. Mommy and Daddy obliged me this time and with my fleece suit, complete with hood and fold over mittens, I was off to set new speed records flying around our yard.

Jungle Playland

Hi everyone,

Did I forget to blog about Jungle Playland? A few weeks ago while Daddy had drill, Mommy and I went to an indoor play area. I had an absolute blast!
I started out in the baby play area climbing up the stairs and going down the slide. It was fun until I discovered the big kid side. There was no turning back after that!

I wore myself out climbing up the squishy stairs, sliding down the fast slide and the curvy slides, running through the gladiator gauntlets, and climbing into the tiger and monkey heads. The only thing I still won't do is go in the ball pit.

Balloon Belly

Hi everyone,

Do you recognize the balloon in my pictures? Yep, it's the blue balloon I mentioned in my last post. This morning I decided to play "balloon belly". I entertained myself for a while in the dining room and in the kitchen with trying to balance on my belly on my balloon. It kept popping out from the side or rolling under me. Finally, though, sweet victory!

Chicks Dig Even More Scars

Hi everyone,

A long time ago I posted about chicks digging scars, so I kind of figure that the more the better. Isn't that a good way of thinking? No, you say, because it means you get hurt more. Hmmm, I may have to think this one through a bit more.

OK, I may not actually have any scars yet but I did get another doozy of an owie this weekend. Yesterday was such a beautiful day and I decided I didn't want to take a nap. We went for a bike ride in the afternoon which we followed up with a stop at the library. They were having a Winnie-the-Pooh party. After hearing a few stories about Pooh and his friends, having some Pooh snacks, and starting to make a few Pooh crafts my sleep deprived ways caught up with me. While walking over to mommy I ended up tripping over this other lady's big feet and I fell right onto the corner of a chair back, with my face. SMACK! My cheek and eye caught the brunt of the force. Needless to say it wasn't a great ending to the Pooh party but I did walk away with my blue balloon.

My picture really doesn't do justice to my battle wounds. My cheek has a big bruise on it around the scraped area and my eye is a little blackened. It didn't stop me from doing any of my normal activities but I do notice people giving me a second look.

My First Masterpiece

Hi everyone,

What do you think of my first painted masterpiece? Don't you just love how the blue and pink mix together to make a subtle purple. I'm not as fond of the yellow mixed with white but it adds a nice contrast.

A Rothko or Picasso I may not be (yet!), but I'm just getting started. Most likely this is what their paintings looked like when they were two years old. I painted my masterpiece during a visit to the Children's Museum this morning which was followed by a half hour swim at the local pool. I bet you the famous painters didn't master two activities in one morning in their day!

Do Re Mi

Hi everyone,

Would anyone like to join me in a round of The Wheels on the Bus, or the ABC's, or Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, or The Eentsy Weentsy Spider, or Jingle Bells, or . . . In case you couldn't tell, I LOVE singing! I break into song all the time; in the car, in the shower, while playing with toys, or just hanging around. I think Mommy and Daddy might be getting a little tired of my selection because they are adding new songs to my repertoire. Mommy and I even watched the Sound of the Music yesterday. I was fascinated!

Oh, by the way, the pictures above have nothing to do with me singing; just playing!

Cocoa Enthusiast

Hi everyone,

Mommy is making lasagna as I type so I thought I'd take a few minutes to update my blog and stay out of the way. I know you are thinking, "Christmas pictures - Christmas is over" but I was looking through our Christmas photos and realized that we had a few that I didn't post that were worth sharing.

I had fun wearing my santa hat, for a few minutes that is. It started bugging me and came off soon after we started unwrapping gifts. After presents we sat and watched White Christmas while eating popcorn and drinking peppermint hot chocolate. Grandma graciously shared her hot chocolate with me and I LOVED IT. Can you tell?

We are looking at some flooding in the next few days but we should stay high and dry. I guess I'll keep you posted.

Until next time . . .

Ringin' in the New Year

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year! We rang in 2009 by going out to dinner for a last hurrah before tightening down the purse strings. I serenaded Mommy and Daddy at dinner with Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and the ABC's, and on the way home I led them in a chorus of The Wheels on the Bus. I did decide to change one line of the song though to make it fit the evening. It went something like this, "The Costco doors open and shut, open and shut, open and shut. The Costco doors open and shut, all over town." How do you like my new version? It was inspired when we drove by Costco and I was told that they closed early for New Year's so we wouldn't be going in.

After dinner we played with my new coliseum blocks. Instead of gladiators in the coliseum I decided to showcase one of my new hot wheels.

I didn't end up staying up until the ball dropped. In fact, I didn't even stay up past my usual bedtime. I guess that's the life of a 2 year old on New Year's Eve. I hope you all made some great resolutions for 2009!

Until next time . . .
