It's Officially Summer

Hi everyone,

For those of you who don't know, summer officially began last week. What, you say that summer doesn't officially start until June 21st. No, no, summer starts when a little boy gets his first scraped knee of the season. Actually it was my first real scraped knee-blood-tears-peroxide-neosporin-bandaid wearing scrape of my life.

It is now officially the second week of summer and I now have two scraped knee-blood-tears-peroxide-bandaid wearing scrapes. It happened when I was walking the dog over to get her nails clipped. Mommy couldn't tell if I was more upset that I scraped my knees or that we had to turn around and go home to clean them up.

I tell you it sure is going to be a long summer if I get scraped knees with the mathematical equation above. How many weeks of summer are there, you ask? We'll see how many scrapes I have by the end and I can tell you for sure.

For a Limited Time Only

Hi everyone,

I had a video of myself giving out my name, address, birthday, etc. so that my far away relatives could hear a little of my voice and see how smart I am, but Daddy and Mommy only wanted it on the blog for a limited time since they don't like people having easy access to my information. If you missed it and want to see it you can always email Mommy and ask her to send it to you!

Swingin' and a Slidin'

Hi everyone,

As promised, here's a little more of my playground. We got the steering wheel on and we have the canvas cover to put on this weekend. I am really enjoying my swings lately. I especially like to swing on my tummy.

Roads made of Pasta?

Hi everyone,

I was helping Mommy make dinner last week and I got a little distracted. One minute I was helping her layer lasagna, the next minute I was lining the lasagna noodles up like a road and running to get my cars and trucks. Mommy stopped me en route and I came to my senses realizing that I shouldn't drive hot wheels on the noodles that we are going to be eating for dinner. Maybe one of these days Mommy will boil some noodles just for me. A boy can always hope!

Sick, Sick, Go Away, Don't Come Again Another Day!

Hi everyone,

What a month we've had around our house health wise! I think Mommy has declared May to be "stay at home and get better" month. I had the start of a rash about a month ago and when Mommy took me into the doctor we found out I had Fifths Disease. Kind of a yucky name, but it's just a viral infection that has to run it's course. Here's some interesting trivia, the name comes from the fact that it was the fifth disease to be discovered, how clever is that! Anyway, it took about two weeks for it to work its way out of my body and then I had some other viral stuff that did a number on my tummy.

I am now feeling better and have officially passed the torch to Mommy and Daddy. On Saturday Mommy spent 3 1/2 hours in the urgent care clinic for huge swollen glands in her neck that hurt to do anything. The culprit, strep throat. She unknowingly passed it along to Daddy because he just went to urgent care today and also got his sick slip. Now I may get my first experience with antibiotics because they both have it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The good news, Daddy had the weekend to cut down our neighbors lilac trees (with their permission of course). Now, Mommy can come out and play on my new "playground". She pressure washed it last week before getting sick and they are planning to replace the canvas top and get me a steering wheel and stuff. I LOVE sliding down my slide and I'm even enjoying swinging! (The picture is from the yard of the people we got it from before it was hauled off and cleaned.)

Until next time (when we are hopefully all happy and healthy) . . .
