It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Hi everyone,

We had a great time picking out pumpkins! Here is the narrative for my photo display above:

1. I was on a mission to find the Great Pumpkin (look out Charlie Brown).

2. I tried to direct Daddy where to take the wheelbarrow but he wasn't very cooperative.

3. I thought I'd try a hand at moving it myself.

4. Looking for the Great Pumpkin is hard work so I thought I'd rest for a minute.

5. After my rest I was inspired to do a little dancing in the pumpkin patch.

6. Then I saw it . . . The Great Pumpkin!

7. I needed a tractor to pick it up it was so huge!

8. OK, maybe not that huge, but it was still big for me.

9. We definitely needed a wheelbarrow to transport it to the porch.

Until next time . . .

Then and Now

Hi everyone,

Look at how much I've grown up in the last year!

Harvest Fun

Hi everyone,

Last weekend we went out to the pumpkin patch! I know these pictures have nothing to do with pumpkins but they are the evidence of the other fun that I had that day. I know, I know, you might not see from the pictures that I am having fun but I really liked going on the barrel train ride and I absolutely loved eating popcorn.

Communication is the Key

Hi everyone,

I thought I might give you a glimpse of my world when I wake up in the morning and after my nap. I usually pop right up and begin talking. I run through many of the words I know and begin practicing them. My bears, octopus, and pictures love to hear me practice over and over again. If you happened to be just outside my door, or even down the hall, or even in another room, you would hear me rolling through my vocabulary. For instance, when I woke up this morning I greeted Mommy with, "cot-co" (Costco), "car", "key". I'm sure you can tell what sound I was working on. The other day you may have overheard, "co-crete" (concrete), "shoooz" (shoes), "sipr" (slipper).

I also am getting very good at directing the people in my life with where I want them to be at any given time. For example, if Mommy happens to be standing in the kitchen and I want her in the dining room then I turn her legs so she is facing the dining room and then I go behind her and start pushing her to start walking. Or if she happens to be standing in the living room I will go over to the couch and pat the cushions and say "sit" "down". If Daddy is sitting on the couch and I want him up then I will lean on the couch and put my hand toward his back or bottom and say "up".

I'd say I'm doing a pretty good job of learning how to get what I want around here. Of course, it doesn't always work, but it's always worth a try!

Until next time . . .

Heavy Machinery Junkie

Hi everyone,

In case you didn't know, I LOVE heavy machinery! Wheel loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators, concrete mixers, road rollers, graders. You name it, I will point to it, watch it for hours, and try to say it. One of my first words was "dump truck" and now I say "co-crete" when I see a concrete mixer.

The other day I got some new jammies with heavy machinery on it. As soon as I saw them I wanted to put them on. Later when Mommy wanted me to get dressed I did not want to take my pajama top off so she let me wear it all day long! That shirt is what I'm wearing in my pictures while I'm playing with my new heavy machinery "cars". I loved playing with them so much that Mommy let me have a special treat of having them sit at the table with me during lunchtime.

Until next time . . .
