Tiptoeing Through the Traffic and Tulips

Hi everyone,

We continue to have beautiful weather around here so I find myself outside and out and about more than sitting by my computer writing posts. Mommy and I have planted our flowers and I heard through the grapevine that we are on our way to pick up a big wooden structure that will allow me to have fun for years to come. More about that later!

The tulips are in bloom once again and you know what that means . . . traffic! Every weekend our little roads are jam packed with people wanting to come tiptoe or frolic or leap through the tulips. Sometimes it's hard to understand what all the hype is when you live around them all the time, but we did manage to get out on a weeknight to make our annual trip to the fields. Mom and Dad tried to take a family picture but I was the typical uncooperative two year old and if I wasn't looking at the other people walking by then I was running away before the picture could be taken. If you didn't get a chance to enjoy the tulips, hopefully we can pass along a little color to you.

Until next time . . .

Working with Dad

Hi everyone,

I didn't realize it had been a week since I last posted. Daddy had last week off so we were busy getting stuff done. I got to help him on my first ever project. We were finishing the last row of our steps down to our basement. Daddy had to pry up the concrete blocks that were already there and then we put in new sand and dirt, patted it down, and put in the new steps and blocks. I used my little shovel to help him out. We also found a few worms, snails, a butter knife, a penny, and a lot of rocks. It was fun, and I'm still talking about when I got dirty and got to help Daddy!

A Dozen Eggs

Hi everyone,

A dozen eggs seemed to be our theme this weekend. On Saturday, Mommy and Daddy decided that we should take advantage of the sunny weather and do an egg hunt. I spied 12 colored plastic eggs hidden all over the back yard. When I opened my treasures I found hot wheel cars, coins, fruit snacks, and some m&m's.

On Sunday it was such a rainy, windy day that we stayed inside and dyed 12 hard boiled eggs. I had fun mixing up the colors, although blue was my favorite. My hands were stained long after we were done dying eggs.

Our last eggs were one short of a dozen. Instead of a baker's dozen, I guess we did a Betz dozen. They sure were a sweet treat for the end of the day though.

Back Seat Driver

Hi everyone,

I have already started giving advice on how my parents should drive, specifically Mommy. We were coming home from swimming today and I guess she was thinking about going one street farther to turn over to our street but at the last minute she changed her mind. She hit her brakes and turned on her signal and I thought that was a perfect time to say, "Whoa, pay attention, Mommy." When she chuckled and asked what I meant I said, "Go a little slower." Little did I know that this is only the beginning of many years of being a back seat driver since I'm told I won't be able to legally drive until I'm at least 16. I have plenty of years to perfect my craft though since I'm only 2!

Behold, I give you momma fire truck and baby fire truck. Momma fire truck is not fully pictured, just her ladder, but she is a big lights and sirens fire truck. Baby fire truck likes to ride up and down her ladder to rescue people.

Vitamin D

Hi everyone,

Finally, some natural vitamin D in the form of sunshine. We have had about 4 glorious days of sun and warm weather. You would think it was summer the way we were dressed and slathering the sunblock on our white exposed skin (you know, unless Mom was making me wear long sleeves and a hat because I freaked out at the spray sunblock the day before)!

Until next time . . .

Rain, Rain Go Away

Hi everyone,

I think it's time to sing a little Rain, Rain Go Away Come Again Another Day! If I recall, the last time I sang it on my blog we had a stretch of nice weather finally. Hmmm, we'll see if it works again.

Can you believe this is already my 100th post? Mommy noticed it today while I was working on my typing skills. Time sure does fly!

Since the weather has been the same for days on end (rainy and windy) you get more photos of me doing nothing other than . . . playing inside. I know, you were waiting with bated breath to see what my activities have consisted of recently. We do get out and go to the museum, toddler time, MOPS, and swimming so that keeps us busy enough.

I heard Mommy say the other day that she wished she could use the ironing board the way I use it. I don't know why she can't. No one says she can't play with my hot wheels on it instead of ironing clothes.

Here is my attempt at putting my hat on all by myself. I understand that Mommy told me that the writing should be on the front of my hat, but I still don't understand how it gets backwards if I can see it while I'm putting it on.
