Wanted: Larger Work Yard

Hi everyone,

Help! My work yard is getting too full of heavy machinery! I may need to expand my business.

For the last two days I've asked Mom if I can drive the train that goes by our house. For some reason, she always tells me no, that they are working, and maybe when I am a grown up I can drive a train. By the way, did you notice that I call her Mom. A few months ago I decided to give up my cute baby phrases of "Mommy" and "Daddy" and just go with the grown up shortened version of "Mom" and "Dad". I think they were a little disappointed so I try to make sure I say it every now and then.

Big Climb

Hi everyone,

Mommy and Daddy did their Big Climb this weekend. I stayed with Grandma that morning while they drove into the big city. They completed their climb in 16 minutes 35 seconds which breaks down to about 14.4 seconds a flight or 1.3 seconds a stair. Mommy told me that they went straight up never stopping for water or breaks. It was pretty intense and she said she felt worse at the end than when she has finished her marathons. They sure seem to recover better though because neither of them are sore today. We'll see about tomorrow, though!

Zoo Adventures!

Hi everyone,

Sorry it's been so long since my last post but I haven't had much fodder to talk about. We have been sticking pretty close to the house and Mommy got the stomach bug that was going around last week so she wasn't up to taking many pictures.

Today, though, I finally got something worth talking about. Daddy has this week off and we went down to the zoo! Even though the weather report said there was a 70% chance of rain we must have been in the lucky 30% because we didn't get one sprinkle.

Our good luck with the weather must have transferred over to the animals because the only animals we didn't get to see were the wolf (who is elusive anyway) and the lions. I had a lot of fun and walked everywhere we went so I was exhausted by the end of our visit. You can see from my pictures above that the only animals I got to "pose" with were the statues. Can you see the tiger behind Daddy and me? I know you can see the elephant in the background of my picture with Mommy.

We stopped for a late lunch at Red Mill Burger where I managed to scarf down a hamburger and a few fries. I could barely stay awake for the trip across town to Top Pot Doughnut. My bite of cake doughnut must have revived me though, because I kicked Mom's seat and sang to myself to keep awake the whole way home. Hmmm . . . I wonder if that's why I had an early bedtime.
Until next time . . .

Old Man Winter

Hi everyone,

I guess old man winter is going to be hanging around for a little while longer. While the weather outside was frightful, inside it was super delightful!

My machines really worked hard this morning. I frequently quoted Bob the Builder during my play session. "Can we do it? Yes, we can!"

Until next time . . .

Vive, Las Vegas!

Hi everyone,

I got to stay with Grandma all by myself for the first time this weekend! Mommy surprised Daddy with a trip to Las Vegas for his 40th birthday and I got to stay with Grandma for four whole days. We played with cars and trucks, saw Thomas the Train, played outside, went for walks, ate chicken nuggets and pancakes, and had a lot of fun. My picture of Thomas is a little blurry because Grandma sneaked it in while the performance was going on.

Mommy and Daddy had fun too and it sounds like they had a whole lot better weather than we did. It was rainy for us for most of the weekend but they had sunshine and blue skies. You'll have to excuse the quality of their picture too. They always try to get at least one picture of them with Daddy holding the camera at arms length. They don't always turn out great, but it's kind of a tradition for them. This one has the Bellagio fountains in the background.

Here's another Bellagio fountain. Dark, milk, and white chocolate! Mmmmmm!

Last, but certainly not least, the picture of the Vegas winnings! They couldn't even fit all of it in their suitcase. Yes, you counted right, that's 8 big ones. They won their spoils playing the Midway at Circus Circus. Daddy is a pro at hitting the chicken in a pot and Mommy has mastered the camel and horse races. Woo hoo!

Until next time . . .
