Disneyland - Fun in the Sun

Hi everyone,

There were a few times that we headed back to the trailer in the middle of the day, but really after a few days of trying this mom and dad figured it wasn't going to work. You see, they had thought that we could have lunch back at the trailer and then I would be able to take a nap before heading back over to Disneyland. Not so much.

It was so hot in the trailer that I just laid there for two hours squirming around on my sleeping bag and thinking about all the fun I was having. After a few days of this (two to see if it was a fluke) they decided there was no point in coming back to the trailer and I didn't have to take any naps while I was there. You know that meant that when my head hit the pillow in the evening I was out in like 30 seconds, right.

So here are just a few random pictures of those few days . . .

A sunny afternoon and a rarity - all three of us in the photo
with no one else standing on the edges waiting like vultures to snap pictures!

Entertaining myself while waiting for the shuttle bus, which was a regular event by the way.
(Probably the most frustrating part of our trip was the shuttle bus. The last two days we
biked over and are kicking ourselves as to why we didn't do that for the other 4 days.)
Mom thought this photo was pretty funny since it looks like the balloon has replaced my head!

Mom LOVES this picture!

Swimming in the pool at the resort!

This one is for Grandpa and Nana!

My friend Grace from back home, whose mom is my mom's running partner, happened to be down there at the same time I was. We met up and went on some rides together!

Until next time . . . we'll hop over to California Adventure!

Disneyland - Fantasyland

Hi everyone,

Once we got past that first day of rainy weather every day just got sunnier and warmer. We went from two layers to one layer to shorts and sandals! It was great!

A Disneyland fire truck picking up characters after a street performance

Mr. Walt Disney himself with Mickey by his side

Peter Pan, a Pixie Hollow fairy, and Tinkerbell

Tea Cups - That's us in the yellow cup in the distance.
Mom didn't want to go on it because she gets sick easily on spinning rides.

Always have to ride on the carousel!

An evening would not be complete without a ride on Dumbo!

The elusive Donald Duck! He is one of the hardest characters to get a photo with at Disneyland.

Until next time . . . when I show some random fun in the sun pictures.

Disneyland - Breakfast with the Characters

Hi everyone,

The first time mom and dad went to Disneyland as a couple they had breakfast at the Plaza Inn with Minnie and her friends. They thought it might be a good idea to do this again so I would get a chance to see a lot of different characters without having to walk all over the park. I think I had more fun seeing the characters than eating breakfast and you know that says a lot if you know me because you know I L-O-V-E breakfast! There are a lot, and I mean A LOT, of pictures here so be prepared.

Geppetto and Pinocchio

Did you know Goofy has a son? His name is Max.

Chip or Dale . . . I think it was Dale if I remember correctly.

Miss Minnie Herself

Rafiki - I got to tell him that my first Disneyland purchase was a baby Simba doll.

Captain Hook - I knew he was a mean character so I was a little unsure of him at first.

Winnie . . .

Tigger . . .

 Eeyore

And finally, the Fairy Godmother!

Until next time . . . when we visit Fantasyland!

Disneyland - Toon Town

Hi everyone,

On our first day at Disneyland we were able to check off two areas, Tomorrowland and Toon Town! We thought we were doing pretty good since we were ahead of the plan of one a day. That and the sun finally broke through the clouds in the afternoon, just in time for Mickey's house, Chip and Dale's tree house, Donald's boat, and Goofy's roller coaster. I loved all the detail that went into Mickey's house. I didn't really care for the smell of the general area of Toon Town though. Either they were having issues with their bathroom that day or they need to plant some new foliage!

Driving a Toon Town car!

Standing at Mickey's door!

Sitting in one of his chairs. Just give me a toy to play with and I'll be right at home.

Meeting Mickey for the very first time!

Clowning around with the famous Goofy!

Main Street of Disneyland . . . notice I have my Mickey ears on!

Waiting for the train. I'm sure you knew that we couldn't not go on the railroad the first day we were there!

Until next time . . . when we have breakfast with the characters!

Disneyland - Tomorrowland

Hi everyone,

I finally had a chance to go through our Disneyland pictures. Whew, that was hard work! My next few posts I may just do photos with captions since there are so many. And, yes, I'll spare you ALL of the pictures but I'll post a few to give you an idea of our trip.

We spent 6 days down in Anaheim, 5 days being at Disneyland and California Adventure and 1 day resting and checking out the restaurants and shops in Downtown Disney. I had so much fun!! We started at Disneyland and took the first three days there making sure we hit everything in each section before moving onto the next. The first day we were there we were able to do Tomorrowland and Toon Town. The only bummer was that it rained for the first 2/3 of the day. How about that for a 10% chance of precipitation from the weather people?

Here is a look at Tomorrowland . . .

Our first time walking through the gates! (It wasn't raining yet.)

These were the first characters we saw. I had no idea who the Queen of Hearts or White Rabbit
were because I haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet.

Of course I knew who Pluto was!

Our second ride! I can't say I enjoyed my first experience with Space Mountain since I didn't know what to expect, but once I knew how to hold my body on a roller coaster I had a blast!
My first ride was Buzz Lightyear.

Hamming it up for the camera!

Autopia! How can a kid not love a ride that gives them a chance to drive a car. You'll notice the two different cars in the pictures, that's because I enjoyed it so much I immediately wanted to go on it again!

Until next time . . . when I see you in Toon Town!

Tri-State Road Trip - Part 4

Hi everyone,

On our next leg of the journey we decided to drive alongside the south side of the Columbia so we could stop at a few of the waterfalls that line that route. Mom and Dad have been to all the waterfalls along there but I had yet to stop at one. This was remedied by our stop at Multnomah Falls (and we drove by a few others but didn't have much time to stop for pictures).

I hiked up to the bridge (and would have really liked to have hiked to the top if I could have) and then had fun running down the trail, path, and ramp leading to the bottom.

Multnomah Falls in all its glory! This isn't even all of it . . . and look how tiny dad and I are!
Can you see us? That's us up on the bridge waving to mom.

Can you see us now? A view of us a little closer up
with all that spray behind us. Brrrrrr, was it cold!

Can you see us now? This one gets a bit of the lower falls in as well
but still can't capture it all.

If you were trying to find the picture that didn't fit the pattern, would this be it?
Here we are grilling brats at one of the few campfires we had on this trip.

Travels continued  . . . until next time . . .
