Post-Op

Hi everyone,

My surgery yesterday went well. We got up at 5:00am to eat breakfast as a family then we went back to bed for another hour or two. Mom got a run in while Dad and I played with some toys. I had my last bit of apple juice and brushed my teeth at 9:30am and then that was it, nothing by mouth after that. My check in time was at 12:15pm but I didn't actually get into surgery until about 1:45pm. Mom came back to the operating room with me and was there until I went unconscious. I woke up in recovery with a nurse and then got moved into another recovery room where I sat with Mom and Dad while eating a popsicle. The only thing that really made me not happy was the iv they left in my arm until right before I left. Mom and Dad said that I was a real trooper and I didn't even need any tylenol when I came home from the hospital. In fact, you wouldn't even know today that I had surgery yesterday. Let's hope that's my only experience with hospital operating rooms!

Ready to go . . .

Waiting for the medical team . . .

Earning My Keep

Hi everyone,

I have officially started earning my keep. Right around my third birthday I began doing jobs around the house to earn my very own commission. Once I earn my commission I put it into three jars: giving, saving, and spending. The giving money goes to my church, the saving money is for a looooong time from now (like for a car, house, high school trip, big purchase, etc.), and the spending money is for me to use how I want. Well, I finally saved up enough spending money to buy the food truck I've had my eye on for a while. What a sweet feeling to buy something with money I've earned myself!

Getting ready to go . . .

picking out my purchase . . .

waiting in line . . .

paying the cashier . . .

waiting for her to count out my $5.40!

Future Photographer?

Hi everyone,

One of the things we have been working on in preschool is photography. I already know how to develop my own film. Just kidding! But I am learning how to hold the camera, position it to get the picture I want, and then actually push the button to take the picture. Here are some of my recent pieces.
I think I have the close-ups down, dontcha think?

Showing a Little Patriotism

Hi everyone,

I surprised my mama the other day when I started reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to her while we were playing with some cars. One minute I'm talking about the United States of America and the next minute I'm saying the Pledge followed by My Country 'Tis of Thee. She didn't know I've been learning it this year at bible study and boy you should have seen the look on her face. I'm still working on the exact wording, as you can tell, but I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far.

Who is the Architect?

Hi everyone,

I submit to you photographic evidence to help you answer the question posed above.

Exhibit A - block house built by Mom
(with an attic, mind you, just like I asked for)
Exhibit B - race track grandstands built by Dad
Exhibit C - super tall tower built by Dad
Exhibit D - tower built by Dad
You be the judge, but I think you can easily tell who the architect is in our family.

Watch Out Gingerbread Man

Hi everyone,

First of all, do you like the new look? Mommy was going to have me wait until I posted all the Christmas pictures so we could start our new year with our new look but I just couldn't look at the green and brown background anymore. I really wanted to pick the cow background but Mom said she didn't want to stare at cow spots while she was reading my blog so I settled for my second choice of chirping chicks.

So, back to our post which will officially be the last post about Christmas events. That gingerbread man shouldn't have come to my house for dinner because he didn't even make it to the table in one piece! He was gobbled up before we even put the first side on the house. We actually got to make three gingerbread houses this year. Individual houses made out of graham crackers for my birthday, a gingerbread train, and a family gingerbread house.
What's this white stuff oozing out of the roof?

Hmmmmm . . . let's see if it's edible.
Yep, it's definitely edible!
Can anyone say "sugar high"?
Poor, sad dog who didn't get to take part in the festivities.
Until next time . . .

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone,

Happy new year! I didn't get to stay up and ring it in with mom and dad, but believe me that was probably a good thing because no one wants to see me if I don't get my 12 hours of sleep at night. I have a few Christmas"y" things to finish up posting and then it will be off to business as usual for the rest of the year.

We finished packing up all of our Christmas decorations today and I kept asking mom why the tree had to go take a nap and why the ornament of Ariel had to go to sleep in her box. I tried to convince mom that they didn't want to go to sleep but she wasn't buying my logic. Oh well, another 11 months and they can come out again.

I decided to spare you the myriad of our pictures in front of the tree and just post this year's picture. If you want to look at cute little old me in front of our tree for the past three years you can always go digging through the archives.
