Nothing Much

Hi everyone,

There hasn't been much going on around here so I don't have much in the way of fodder for my blog. I will tell you that we had our home study today so we are closer to getting our foster care license. However, that opens up a whole new can of worms with placement of children, plans already in the works, etc. Good, but stressful for all involved.

I can't leave you without a picture. Don't you wish you could eat with such abandonment? This picture doesn't even do justice to how messy my face was in real life.

Sailing Away

 
Hi everyone,

Sorry it's been so long again. No excuses though, right, so let's just get right down to it. Our preschool theme a few weeks ago was boats and we went on a fun field trip to go along with our theme. We spent the weekend in the big city at our friends', the McGregors, and went and saw A LOT of boats!

While we were there we went to the locks to see how they work and also to see boats coming and going from the sound into the lake and out again. The first boat through when we got there was a police boat. How cool is that?

It was neat seeing how the locks work and to watch the gates open and close and the area fill and empty of water.

We also got to check out the dam and the fish ladder (which only had one teeny, tiny fish in it). And we got to see a train go over the train bridge, and then we got to see the bridge lift up to let a sailboat through.

After that we headed over to the wharf to check out boats that were moored before we had fish and chips for dinner. Well, most of us had fish and chips . . . I had grilled cheese and fries.

And a field trip wouldn't be complete without a little playing around . . .
