Dog Walking

Hi everyone,

I was looking over the other pictures from our camping trip and I noticed they are all pretty much me out walking the dog or hiking. I guess there aren't too many exciting pictures you can take when you are stuck in a camp trailer and the weather isn't all that great. At least you get to see my bright yellow rain jacket!

Walking around the campground

Hiking out to the bridge - Seeing some monster trees

Up the hill, through the woods, over the bridge . . .

And back down again - Loved the Olympics in the background right under the cloud layer!

Until next time . . .

The Rolling Sea

Hi everyone,

Over Veteran's Day weekend we had our last hurrah camping trip of the year. Since this was the same weekend that Mom had to do report cards we ended up camping somewhat close to home. True to form for the fall, our weekend weather was very unpredictable. We had wind, rain, clouds, sun, cold . . . the only thing that was missing was snow. It was pretty awesome to see our normally calm seas so stormy.

To be continued . . . (in just a few days, I promise)

Are you still there?

Hi everyone,

I haven't forgotten about you, I promise. It has gotten busy around our house and I think that over the next few days during my break from preschool for the Thanksgiving holiday I'll have some time to post about our last hurrah camping trip and other mundane things our family has been up to. Thanks for being patient with me! That is, if you are still checking in.

Until next time . . .

Giddy-up Cowboy!

Hi everyone,

Guess what I was this Halloween? Tough guess, huh. Mom and Dad thought that since I already had an authentic cowboy hat and some jeans that I would make a pretty cute cowboy. What do you think?

Until next time . . .

Guts and Glory

Hi everyone,

Halloween cannot be complete without a little pumpkin carving. This was the first year that I actually stuck my hand inside my pumpkin and pulled out all his guts! I'll admit that at first I was a bit timid but once I got used to it I really went to town with pulling out big handfuls and chunks.

The architectural engineers!

 A bit dainty at first!

I also designed my pumpkin's face this year all by myself. I drew out the design that I wanted and then Dad walked me through the exact shapes while he drew them on my pumpkin. Then we worked together to do the actual carving. I was pretty impressed with how much I was able to do. And I was the only one who got his pumpkin carved in time for Halloween! Mom and Dad ended up carving theirs a few days after. At least they managed to get it carved though, right. I guess we can cut them some slack.

And for the big reveal . . . drumroll please!

And the next one is Mom's favorite! I really loved her pumpkin and wanted it. I know, it wasn't enough that I literally took her big pumpkin to carve as my own, but then I wanted to take her carved pumpkin too. He just looked so cute and forlorn. This was a spontaneous hug and Mom loves how it looks like the pumpkin is looking up at me like, "Ah, help. Get this kid away from me."

Until next time . . .
