Lions and Tigers and Eggs, Oh My!

Hi everyone,

We wrapped up our vacation adventures by going to the zoo for the first time! I was surprised that the day we picked to go they were having Easter egg hunts. Of course, my age group was just for fun. I guess they agree with Mommy and Daddy that kids my age probably shouldn't have candy. Some of the animals got Easter baskets though and we got to see them discovering what was in it.

I spent the whole day at the zoo gliding around in my stroller staring at strange looking animals that I've only seen in books. Sorry I don't have any pictures of me with the animals, but I couldn't get as close to most of them as I wanted and the ones that were close were separated from me by thick glass. It was a fun day, but long. I didn't take a nap at all and I was really tired when we got home.

Until next time . . .

Vacation Adventures

Hi everyone,

Sorry it's been so long but I have been a little bit busy. Daddy had last week off so we were trying to enjoy our time together by getting out and about. Fuel is a little more expensive than I get for my allowance (which is non-existent at this age) so we had to stick around the area for our "vacation". On one of the days we took the ferry over to a little island nearby and we biked around the island and had a snack at the general store. We would have eaten dinner there but Mommy and Daddy didn't do as much pre-planning as they thought. They parked the truck and unloaded the bikes barely making the afternoon ferry we were trying to catch. When we got over there they realized that they had left my diapers and wipes in the truck, and yes, of course before we even started I needed to be changed. Come on, I'm not potty trained yet. Do you know how expensive a little pack of diapers and wipes are when you aren't buying in bulk? So, most of our food money that Mommy brought went to buying those, some crackers, and a map of the island. Then Daddy realized that he had money in his wallet but he had left that in the truck too. We ended up having dinner on the mainland on our way back home. It was actually really fun, all except the part where Mommy and Daddy pinched my little chin in the clasp of my bike helmet. No wonder kids don't want to wear those things!

Stay tuned for more vacation adventures, until next time . . .

Scratches and Scrapes

Hi everyone,

Are you ready for your new vocabulary word for the week? Here it is: maxillary frenum. What in the world is that, you ask. It is the flap of skin that connects the upper lip to the upper gum. How do I know that, you ask. Because I tore mine on Wednesday when I fell off of a box I was playing on. I thought it might be fun to go to the dentist for the first time on my daddy's birthday. Instead of spending $50 for a birthday present, I spent the $50 on a dentist visit. I did get a nice green balloon, a new toothbrush, and a free kids meal for Red Robin in the deal. I guess the injury is pretty common and he said my frenum was pretty pronounced and they possibly would have had to cut it anyway so I just did them a favor. I sure have had some bumps and scrapes though. In the last two days I tore my frenum, scraped my forehead right between my eyebrows, and scraped up my nose. You would think that all those happened with the same fall but they were actually three different incidents. Who is supposed to be watching me anyway!?!

I chose a picture of my battle scars (notice the bright red, scraped nose and the little piece of waffle in my mouth) and one of better days when I had my pictures taken professionally.

Until next time . . .

Welcome Spring!

Hi everyone,

Today was a day full of outdoor adventure! Mommy, Daddy, and I woke up early this morning and went to a neighboring waterfront town for a run. Well, Mommy was really the only one running. Daddy pulled me in the bike trailer where I fell asleep for about 45 minutes of the hour ride, a little unscheduled morning nap. Good thing too because it started raining pretty hard about halfway through our trip. After going out to breakfast we headed home for another nap and when we woke up the sun was bright and shining. We bundled up and all three went out for a bike ride across the river. I am worn out and ready to hit the hay.

I know my pictures don't show bike rides and running but I wanted to show you some of my other toys. I like taking my pet alligator for walks but he is harder to keep an eye on than my dragon because he likes to walk behind me. I also like to put things in the texture box that Mommy and Daddy made me and I found a new item, ME!

Until next time . . .
