Under the Bridge and through the Woods

Hi everyone,
In the last few weeks I have discovered the play area at the mall. I really like to scoot through the log tunnel and under the bridge. Here you can see I am crawling right through the river! I love watching the other kids (especially bigger ones) run around and jump off of the toys. I did get scared once though because this bigger boy wouldn't let me go under the bridge to get back to mommy.
Mommy doesn't want me to tell you this next part but I have to because it's a big deal. I burned the outside of two of my fingers on my right hand. Now don't worry, I went to the doctor and he said it wasn't too bad of a burn and it should heal up nicely. He was glad because I didn't get any of my joints. I know I told you I would try not to get too cracked up in my last message but this isn't really a crack. I was hanging on to the edge of the dishwasher and transferred my hand to the oven. Well, the door wasn't hot but mommy was making dinner and the edge of the oven box was where my little fingers touched. I had never felt anything like that before so I didn't know what to do. Mommy told me she could tell right away what happened because of the look on my face and where my hand was. Daddy put my hand under cold water and I ate dinner like a champ so they didn't think I was too bad off. I went to bed with aloe vera on it but when I woke up in the morning both fingers had a blister. Of course, I didn't let a little oowie stop me and you'll be glad to know that it doesn't seem to be my dominant hand so I can still do everything I could before. I promise I'll try to be more careful.
Until next time . . .

Fishy Face

Hi everyone,

Mommy took this picture of me about a month ago when I was making fish faces all the time. I guess she didn't post it earlier because she was trying to get a better shot of me squishing my lips but I've decided I'm done with that face for awhile. The name of the game is to learn something, master it, and move on. Who wants to keep doing the same old stuff when there are new horizons to explore!

I'm not walking on my own yet but I love to cruise around on the furniture and with my tonka truck. I tell you though, being able to move isn't all it's cracked up to be . . . or maybe it is because I keep on getting bangs and bruises from little tumbles I take on my unsteady legs. My latest was a fat lip just last night. I tried to tell Mommy but I guess she couldn't see it until it got all puffy because she sure took a long time to give me a cold teething toy to suck on. That sure made it feel better.

I'll try to stay in one piece until next time . . .

Trick or Treat

Hi everyone,
I finally got to carve my pumpkin! Mine is the biggest one toward the back. I decided to go with a traditional face for my first carving. I have to admit it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be like. The gooey guts were so cold that my little hands were freezing by the time I was done. Next year I am going to ask Mommy and Daddy to bring it inside a few days before so it has a chance to warm up. It was still a fun night . . . although . . . I did overhear Mommy and Daddy talking about making caramel apples after I went to bed. No fair! I have two more teeth on top now and I could easily bite into a sticky apple.
Before I go I want to point out that Mommy's pumpkin has a horrified look on its face because I have a double fist of candy. I just want to reassure her pumpkin that I couldn't seem to get the candy out of the plastic it comes in so all is safe with my new teeth.
Until next time . . .

Harvest Time

Hi everyone,
Mommy and Daddy still haven't let me carve my pumpkin! I know you have been waiting to see it just like I've been waiting to do it, so I figured I'd send you another picture of me and my HUGE pumpkin until carving time comes. I also thought you might want to see my tractor I got at the fair last month. You can tell that I'm in the driver's seat because the farmer is on the floor off to the side of me. I guess I got a little crazy in my turns!
I can now stand on my own, and even if it is only for a few seconds at a time, it's still on my own. Mommy also calls me curious george. I'm not sure why since that's not my name, but I think it might have to do with the fact that I get into everything I can. What's the fun of being able to reach it if you can't have it?
Until next time . . .

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Everywhere

Hi everyone,

I went to the pumpkin patch over the weekend and picked out my very own pumpkin. It was almost three times as big as Mommy, and Daddy, and Najia's! It sure is going to be hard work carving it up, but I think I can do it. Did you see in the first picture that I'm taller than Najia? Finally, someone who is shorter than I am!

Until next time . . .

Mooooooo

Hi everyone,

On Saturday I got to tour some of our local farms. You can't see any of the cows in the first picture, but boy you sure can see that it was a cold and blustery day. Mommy and Daddy made me wear this fuzzy hat and mittens so I didn't get too cold. We even had to drag out our umbrella and raincoats again! What do you think of the giant tractor we got to see? It's a lot bigger than my little John Deere toy I got at the fair, but it looks almost exactly like it; it's just missing the farmer singing Old MacDonald when you push his head.

My two top front teeth came in this last week. When I look in the mirror it's still hard for me to see them but boy do I feel them, and they will come in handy with eating all my new foods. I say skip the chicken and turkey and just go straight for the steak!

Until next time . . .

Goin' to the State Fair

Hi everyone,
As you can see by my photo documentation the day started out rainy. Not only was it raining but by the time we actually got to the fair it was coming down in buckets! It's a good thing Mommy and Daddy have lived in this rainy state for so long because they came prepared. We had raincoats, umbrellas, changes of shoes and socks. I tell you, you never can tell what you're going to need when you're spending all day at the fair.
I got to see some of the farm animals that are in the books I read. They really do feel like the fur in the touch and feel book. Mommy and Daddy bought me my first John Deere tractor that plays Old MacDonald (my favorite song) and pulls animals along behind it. I didn't get to go on any rides, though. I guess you have to be at least 2 years old, so I won't even be able to next year. We had corndogs, BBQ, scones, elephant ears, hamburgers and fries . . . what am I saying, I didn't get to eat any of that. Mommy and Daddy ate it right in front of me while I had to eat healthy fruits, vegetables, chicken, and grains. I betcha my tummy feels better than theirs does!
Until next time . . .
